Devin and I have been recording and watching the Brady Bunch. Like, the 1st and 2nd season. So I've noticed a few things. I still think Carol Brady is unattractive and has horrible hair, and Mike Brady is one great looking hunk of in the closet man meat! Meow Mr. Brady.

TCA: The CW Considers Summer Rollouts
The CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff: Network may launch 2009-10 schedule in July or August to 'get out of the fray.' By B&C Staff -- Broadcasting & Cable, 7/19/2008 7:22:00 PM
Beverly Hills -- The CW is looking at launching its 2009-10 schedule in the summer, according to network entertainment president Dawn Ostroff.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour here Saturday, Ostroff said the network is considering rolling out its schedule next July or August, despite the traditionally low viewership for broadcast television at that time of the year.
“The idea is to get out of the fray,” she added.
With The CW looking at alternative scheduling options to help bolster its fortunes, Ostroff said she is not afraid to end the network’s season as much as one month earlier than other networks.

| Topic: CW Lifts Ban on Online Steaming |
The CW has lifted its ban on Internet streaming of “Gossip Girl.” The network made headlines last spring when it announced it would stop streaming episodes of the buzzworthy soap opera on its Web site. At the time, CW executives described it as an experiment. Turns out the experiment didn’t quite work out. Ratings for the show didn’t go up noticeably. And fans protested loudly (even though the show was still available for purchase on iTunes). Now CW Entertainment President Dawn Ostroff says “Gossip Girl” will once again be streamed on the network’s Web site, as well as other sites. The show also will continue to be available for purchase online.

Fell asleep @ 6:30 last night on the couch. Um, ok? I got up at about 9, went into my room, and slept until about 1 am when the rave started outside. Or at least that's what I thought it was ... turned out it was just an incredible lightning show accompanied by the ocean falling on my house. Party!
I'm feeling a wee bit better about things. I mean, what choice do I have?
That's it. I'm well rested, drinking a delicious Diet Coke, and happy as hell to have all internet sites from our office in Indiana.
Um, the doc I work for just took off his jacket. I gave him a funny look, and he said he was warm, and might strip down and just work in a wife-beater today. Ha!

I know my blogging has lessened lately. Life has been SO busy. But, to sum up: Graduation didn't slow things down at all. Ibby got a small part in the musical 'Gypsy' with JJP, then made concert choir with the MSC, so the summer has been filled with concerts and play rehearsals. To top it off, the restaurant opens in about three weeks and things are beginning to get hairy at work. It's not overwhelming, but can be emotionally draining at times. Shelly came home this weekend for her Mobile baby shower. It was hard to say goodbye. She came to church on Sunday as she was leaving town to see my mother, Ibby and me, and I just wanted to hold her tight and not let her leave. I didn't, but mostly because the cops told me to let her go and they'd send the S.W.A.T. team home. But, I digress. Shelly's baby shower was a resounding success, and she looks totally beautiful pregnant. I loved seeing her and Clay together. They're true soul mates. It seems each weekend is somewhat busier than the last. But, thankfully, this weekend has nothing on the agenda...YET...except play rehearsal for Ibby on Sunday afternoon. I'm hoping that if I don't answer my phone, nothing else can come up. The weekend after is Shelly's baby shower in Atlanta, so I'll be in Georgia then. Insha's pre-wedding ceremony is that same weekend, and I'm trying to figure out how to get home in time to attend. I had a nice long conversation with Ami today. I think our friendship deepened as a result of it, but only time will tell. I've been spending a lot of time on Facebook lately...primarily because it's less intrusive than MySpace in re: graphics and such and it has games I can play while I'm at work. Because of my activity on Facebook, I've reconnected with a LOT of old friends. I'm stunned by it, but relatively excited. Ibby and I had mother-daughter movie night tonight. We watched 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' AGAIN. I don't mind, though. I'd totally have a torrid love affair with Steve Martin. Sick, I know. But, the funny guy has always captured my attention. It's probably why I'm still single...big joke and all.

Spotted!! July 21st, 2008 Spotted: B seeing the Little Singers perform in Monaco with a sexy older Frenchman. Girl sure is getting around. Love it. C partying it up on Block Island with a gaggle of girls from Rhode Island. Boy sure is getting around. Hate it. S eating ice cream at the Candy Kitchen in Bridgehampton. She had mint chocolate chip on a sugar cone. N at Book Hampton on Main Street. Yes, that’s not a misprint. N was at a bookstore, browsing the “New Releases” section. This is very interesting (and kind of surprising. No offense, N). D and V at the MoMa checking out the Dali: Painting and Film exhibit. V was way into it while D flirted/chatted/whatevered with a tour guide. J getting off the F train at 23rd street. She was lugging a huge box and looked way overworked. Poor little J. P making out with a random while H danced on a table at Pink Elephant in Southampton. Classy ladies. Real classy. xo xo Gossip Girl

Memories Come Back To Life A Gossip Girl RPG Hey Upper East Siders!
So, did you miss me? You don't have to answer that question, I already know the answer. The truth of the matter is, I missed you all too. Well, I missed the things that you do that keep me busy. And while the drama certainly didn't die down over the summer, I found myself taking a slight hiatus. What? Did you really think that you should be the only ones laying on the beach all day in order to achieve that perfect tan? Or spending those long, hot nights with a gorgeous tanned boy in your beds? I had to get my fill as well. But, now as we return to our respected campuses just in time to embark on that second year of college, I'm back to gossiping as well. Because we all know that you wouldn't be able to function without these constant updates. Just like our favorite members of the elite wouldn't be able to function without all of that constant drama.

| Topic: Remarks from Dawn at TCA's |
From the huffingtonpost, but I thought this was an awesome read! :)
----
It seemed as if every moment of The CW's morning at the Summer 2008 Television Critics Association tour throbbed with the influence of the two-year-old network's first true signature show, Gossip Girl. From the sessions for 90210 and Privilege, two new scripted dramas with canvases largely populated by wealthy and attractive young people, to the presentation of a new reality series about young people competing for a job at a fashion magazine that caters to the wealthy and the attractive, to a press conference with CW Entertainment President Dawn Ostroff, The CW's day at TCA felt as if it were all Gossip Girl all the time.
In her opening remarks to TCA members, it took Ostroff less than one minute to make her first reference to GG, which she described as one of the network's "building blocks" for the future. Certainly, it has been instrumental in identifying The CW as a destination for the very young. Thanks to fancy freshman GG and veteran workhorses America's Next Top Model and One Tree Hill, the median age of the female-skewed CW is now 34, a full decade younger than nearest competitor Fox, Ostroff happily noted.
Critics enjoy picking on Gossip Girl because its television ratings are very small, even though its demographics are young and desirable. Some of them have been joking that there are more people staying here at the Beverly Hilton Hotel than there are watching the show every week. That said, traditional ratings appear to be deceiving, in a negative sense. Consider the growing issue of GG's much-discussed laptop viewer base, which would seem to indicate that the show is mightier than it appears under standard scrutiny.
"Gossip Girl is one of the big mysteries of the television universe," Ostroff asserted. "We have a show that everybody is talking about. We do research all over the country. We can't go anywhere without having women talk about Gossip Girl. The press is writing about all of [its] actors. Last week on the cover of The New York Times there was an article about Gossip Girl and the effect [it] has on the retail market. Bloomingdales in the article is quoted as saying that when something appears on Gossip Girl it sells out in [that store]." Ostroff also referred to a recent story on NPR that quoted an influential advertising executive as saying that 'Nielsen does not have enough people in [its] sample to accurately measure the viewing habits of this country. People are viewing content in many different ways.'
"Every viewer must be counted, and no viewer should be left behind," Ostroff declared.

My friend list needs a revival!
Name: Jenna Status: Engaged? Marriage is somewhere in the plans, we just haven't put any thought into when.. Age: 21 Location: New Jersey Children: Jenny, 19 months Sahm/wohm/wahm: Stay at home, plus school part time. This semester will be an attempt to go back full time.
More about me: Well, as far as my journal is concerned, my entries are typically about Jenny or family in general. It also is here to serve as my backup memory since I don't trust mine well enough to remember everything she does.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm just a laid back kinda gal. Lately I've been trying to get my brains back into shape. I don't feel as smart as I used to, so I'm trying to start reading again (Douglas Coupland, Chuck Pahlniuk and authors of that area) and have recently taken up Sudoku! I love piano but haven't played in over a year. I'm hoping to get one in October to see if I've got any music left in my fingers. I also really love art and have been trying to put that back into my life. I started out at school as an art major, but since I became pregnant it was put on the backburner. I also like fat animals, cats and dinosaurs especially :D
If you write and comment frequently, and think you could entertain me with your posts, I would love to have you as a friend! I like everybody as long as they're friendly and don't whine too often or judge others (unless, of course, they are ridiculous. then expect me to join you, ha!).
(and for those who add me--I apologize for the drama-infused post in my journal. I promise that they are rarely there!)
